Picturesque old town flair

All around Kulmbach the famous Luitpold Fountain with its market square and rococo town hall, the historic old town, idyllic alleys and charming places invite you to stroll and linger. The town's landmark, the imposing Plassenburg Castle on the European Castle Road, towers high above Kulmbach, which can be seen from afar. It is one of the largest Renaissance architectural monuments in Germany.

Beer has been brewed here for more than 600 years. In any case, a visit to the Bavarian Brewery and Bakery Museums with its beautiful beer garden on the grounds of the former Mönchshof Brewery is well worth your while. The world''s largest Tin Figure Museum, the Wagner Festival city of Bayreuth, the baroque city of Bamberg, as well as the region''s cycle paths are further interesting destinations for outings.
