Ideally located
The town of Schwarzheide lies in the middle of the heath and pond landscapes in the picturesque Lausitzer Seenland, not far from the Spreewald and the impressive sandstone formations of Saxon Switzerland. The location is also ideal for business travellers, as the local BASF plant, for which the city is famous, is just a few minutes' walk away.
Incredibly restful
The popular recreational areas around ''Lausitz'' fulfil all the wishes of enthusiasts of water sports and fishing, hiking and cycling. For instance, a bicycle tour through the Lusatian Lakeland or a dive into Senftenberger Lake. On strolls through the natural landscape you will encounter grey herons, storks and cranes, cormorants, sea eagles and kingfishers. Finally, you can set out out on the trail of lignite technology in the Mining Museum Knappenrode and visit one of the still active opencast lignite mines. But you can also quickly reach Dresden, Bautzen and Görlitz from Schwarzheide. In turn, the neighbouring village Senftenberg invites you to stroll through the pedestrian zone of the historic city center and to visit the Senftenberg Palace. You can also get to Europe's largest tropical holiday destinations by car Tropical Islands, to Dresden and also to Berlin. The typical regional delicacies of the Spreewald gherkin plate, the Senftenberg trout and potatoes with cold-pressed linseed oil can be enjoyed in our in-house restaurant "Frederic's 15".
