Romanic architecture meets gothic architecture – with around 1,500 listed buildings, Regensburg has the largest medieval old town in Germany. In addition, Germany’s oldest preserved bridge spans the Danube: the Steinerne Bridge. Since the early 8th century, Regensburg has been a diocese and even in the Middle Ages it was considered to be a prosperous trading town. It still affords visitors today the feeling of taking a trip back in time through the ages.
An almost Mediterranean flair awaits you, almost as if you are strolling down the street in a North Italian city. Since 2006 Regensburg’s old town has been a UNESCO world heritage site. A trip to the surroundings is also worthwhile, for example to the neoclassical ancient temple high above the Danube banks, the Walhalla. From there you can enjoy magnificent views overlooking Europe’s second longest river.

Our local team is always happy to advise you on building your own trip and excursion itinerary.
