The most famous cities around  Monheim am Niederrhein are the exhibition cities of Cologne and Düsseldorf, both less than a half hour away. At the same time, Monheim is wonderfully embedded in green landscapes, from the banks of the Rhine River to the Bergisches Land and the forest nature reserve Knechtsteden, with its paths for cycling, water sports, horseback riding and orchard walks.
