Our creation of the word ACHATmindfulness is naturally derived from the word “mindful”. We’re intentionally attaching our name because we truly identify with the attitude that’s wrapped up in that little word.

We want to consciously practice ACHATmindfulness together, using resources, nature - and, in general, with everyone and everything. These numerous aspects mean more to us than just Sustainability as it is commonly understood.

Green Team

Each of our hotels has its own Green Team who create, gather and contribute ideas

 


Support children

Children are our future. ACHAT Hotels participate annually in the following projects: 

Aktion Kinderschutz, Help for Children, Sucht- und Jugendhilfe E.V.
 


ACHAT-Fashion

One team, one passion, one outfit... or rather 2? With a lot of love and care, new feel-good outfits have been created for both ACHAT (pictured right) and LOGINN Hotels (pictured left): Of course, we like the fact that they are even more sustainable. The Öko Standard 100 guarantees that no harmful chemicals are used in the clothing. Sustainability, fairness and respect are the focus throughout the entire manufacturing process. The textiles are OEKO-TEX Standard 100 certified and are made from organic cotton and recycled polyester from old PET bottles.


Minibar

Our cool minibars can be plugged in and unplugged as needed.

 


Cigarette vending machine

Plug in, pull a pack, unplug again. This saves electricity even when smoking

 


Equal Opportunity

For us, it’s not the external features that count, but the inner values. This is shown from A as in Apprenticeship-Program to Z as in Zest for team spirit.

 


Wine list

German wines are improving; those from Austria, Italy, and France are not bad either.

Together with “Prince Salm Wine" we create a regional focus in our hotels. The wines from this winery are organic and also FAIR'N GREEN certified.

So sorry that there are no wines from overseas on the wine list..

 


Electropower

E-charging stations have already been installed in several Achat Hotels. And soon, there will be even more.

 


Treats

Although some of it is still really tasty, we’re no longer permitted to use it. We should save food from going to waste through projects like To Good To Go 

 


Dessert

Believe it or not, our teams cannot live on love alone. That’s why we also welcome them to help themselves to any leftover desserts: the treats taste great and would otherwise just go to waste.

 


Acker Racker Project

With this award-winning educational program, children actively contribute to better health and climate protection by growing their own vegetables. The ACHAT Hotels support this project financially

 


Waterfall

It feels like the same amount of water is coming out of the faucet and shower head. But you’ve been tricked: Our economy jet regulators allow us to save up to 50%, not to mention half :-).

 


Paperless Office

With nearly 6,000 rooms combined among us  there are more than enough bills to go around, too. We’re now digitizing the entire process and require a lot less paper.

 


Garbage collection

we no longer use plastic garbage bags in our rooms, saving 435,000 plastic garbage bags a year. And if There are any left, then only to use up the last bags of waste from our remaining stock or they are only used where they are indispensable for hygienic reasons.

 


Sustainable mascot

Echti not only helps us to give useful tips to our guests on how they can act even more sustainably but is even genuinely sustainably produced itself. The production of the plush animals supports the UN's goals in combating climate change.

It is said that the green agate that gives us our name [in German “Achat”] and symbolizes relaxation, awakens the zest for life, and inspires.

We think that fits really amazing because our hotels always put people first. They live off the heartfelt hospitality of authentic characters. We all have a respectful collaboration, a family spirit, and a passion for the hospitality industry.

Our company’s social, economic, and environmental responsibility demonstrates our seriousness. The fact that our teams are already working hard on this and continue to come up with really amazing ideas themselves proves that this is indeed something that comes from the heart.

 

 

ACHAT-mindful

To give direction and purpose to our journey, we have developed a far-reaching strategy, including practical measures and realistic initiatives to achieve hotel-wide ACHAT mindfulness. Step by step, we are steadily making progress.

What we really love

We have five categories to systematically lend a plan and structure to the chaos of countless ideas.

 

  • Really aware:
    After all, the best thing is to deal responsibly with resources such as electricity, gas, district heating, and water without giving anything up. That’s why we meter our consumption, set ourselves ambitious goals, and combine many small steps to achieve those goals.
  • Really clean: 
    We reduce emissions that we produce ourselves and those that arise along the supply chains. CO2 as well as waste, cleaning agents, and fuels... To achieve this, we rely on streamlined operations, innovative technologies, and responsible suppliers.
  • Really local
    We provide each of our hotels largely free rein to buy regionally, form small networks, and promote sustainable local projects. Enabling us to reduce our travel distances, promote synergies, and operate beyond our horizons.
  • Really personal
    WIithin ACHAT’s family atmosphere, everyone is allowed to be “themselves”, have equal opportunities, make contributions, and enjoy the greatest level of freedom possible. To achieve this, we create fair, tolerant, and transparent structures that offer education, training, exchange, career opportunities, and much more.
  • Really inspiring
    With the help of our teams, guests, and friends, we can achieve so much more than we could on our own. We motivate people to join in without pointing fingers and are always open to feedback and new ideas. That’s why we disclose what we do and why in meetings and our marketing.
