Museums and Motors
The more than 900-year-old history of the fourth largest Saxon city tells of mining, the Reformation and personalities such as Robert Schumann, August Horch and Max Pechstein. Priesterhäuser, the art collections Zwickau with the newly opened Max-Pechstein-Museum and the Schumann-Haus invite you to discover this cultural richness. You can learn all about the great history of Zwickau's automobile manufacturing on the former premises of A. Horch & Cie. Motorwagenwerke AG "experience". Cars have been manufactured in Zwickau since 1904, from Horch, Audi, Auto Union and Trabant to the electric car ID. 3, the VW plant Zwickau produces.

During a stroll through the elaborately renovated old town around the Dom St. Marien and the Saint Catherine's Church, you will find numerous restaurants, cafés and shops in picturesque surroundings. In doing so, you will also walk in the footsteps of Martin Luther and Robert Schumann. Two circular paths lead through the middle of Zwickau, and with information panels at important points provide anecdotes about the city' s history. On the green banks of the Mulde River, the unique recreational and adventure area Muldeparadies invites you to stroll, relax, play and enjoy. Kornhaus and Gewandhaus, Paradiesbrücke and puppet theater are further examples of the diversity that Zwickau has to offer. As well as the Concert- and Ballhaus New World and the Johannisbad, an art nouveau jewel to dive into.
