Lively town surrounded by old half-timbered houses

The large district town of Waiblingen, directly on the river Rems, is one of the highlights of the German Half-Timbered Houses Route and enchants with its beautiful, colorful half-timbered houses and high towers. The historic old town invites you to take a walk where emperors and kings once lived. Fans of historic walls and diverse town history will get their money's worth: be it at the 500-year-old Nonnenkirchle or the Nikolauskirche, which was rebuilt in the 17th century. Also worth seeing are the Kameralamt and the Old Town Hall.

The market square directly in the old town (with the imposing half-timbered house of the former district court) is particularly inviting. Major events are held here regularly, for example the Old Town Festival or the French Days, which take place in the summer. Twice a week there is a market here, which attracts with many local delicacies. Take the opportunity and stroll through the many small stalls. Perhaps you will discover a potential new favorite delicacy from the Swabian cuisine?

Much on offer for art, culture and sports enthusiasts

Beautifully situated on the banks of the Rems is the Galerieplatz. It is the center of Waiblingen's "Kulturufer".  Here you will find, for example, the Galerie Stihl, the municipal exhibition house, which focuses on artistic works on, made of or with paper. And in the evening, you can easily relax at Waiblingen's cinema, just around the corner from the hotel.

Are you more interested in exercise? In good weather, you can go canoeing on the Rems River and rent boards for stand-up paddling (SUP), and an outdoor pool offers water fun for all ages. In the cooler months, a visit to the indoor swimming pool in Waiblingen is a good idea, and the Active Garden bouldering hall lets you get a taste of high altitude even when it's raining or storming outside.

Close to Stuttgart: Experiences beyond the city limits

If Waiblingen is not enough for you, you can also explore the beautiful surrounding area of the Rems Valley. There are several tourist routes nearby, such as the 511 km long Württemberger Weinstraße or the 90 km long Remstalradweg. Not far from Waiblingen is also the wonderful 19th-century burial chapel on the Württemberg.

You are more in the mood for a city tour? With the S-Bahn connection, you can be in Stuttgart in fifteen minutes with its museums and sights - art, automobile history, zoo and events. (By the way, you can easily get to the Cannstatter Wasen folk festival from LOGINN Hotel Waiblingen without a car - and then back again in 30 minutes).
